Health checks & quarantine procedure:
As per the announcement made by the government of Malaysia, inter-state travellers are encouraged to perform these precautionary measures before travelling:
TEST: Perform COVID-19 self-test if you have developed any symptoms
REPORT: Update your MySejahtera app with the result of the test
ISOLATE: Perform self-quarantine if you are tested positive. Always adhere to Home Surveillance Order requirements by MoH
INFORM: Notify your close contact if you are tested positive
SEEK: Seek medical help from the nearest clinic or CAC if you are developing severe symptoms
DEPARTURE
Prior to your departure date, please check the COVID-19 test requirements of your arriving destination. However, in case of emergencies, passengers can do the COVID-19 screening with Menara Medical Clinic by appointment. Please make an appointment at least 1 day before you plan to do the test. General Requirements:
All travellers arriving in Malaysia must comply with the following:
- Negative COVID-19 (RT-PCR) test taken within two days of departure
- Remit payments for COVID-19 screening test at https://airport.doctor2u.my and quarantine cost at https://safetravel.myeg.com.my/
- Undergo quarantine at designated quarantine centres for a period that is determined by the Malaysian government. Please refer below.
- Download the MySejahtera application from Google Play Store and Apple App Store and complete the health declaration in the MySejahtera Traveller page.
Quarantine Exemption Rules
Travellers entering into Malaysia who are FULLY VACCINATED and have contracted COVID-19 within 11 to 60 days prior to their arrival are exempted from having to undergo quarantine. Travellers must be able to produce the following documents at the point of entry, upon request by the authority:
a) Printed or digital laboratory report showing that they had contracted COVID-19 within 11 to 60 days prior to their arrival date;
b) A ‘fit for travel’ letter from the hospital if the traveller was treated for COVID-19 at a hospital; OR
c) A negative COVID-19 RTK-Ag test if the traveller was isolated at home or in an isolation centre. Please note that the test must be conducted 2 days prior to the departure date
Home Quarantine Information – Preapproval Required
Fully vaccinated Malaysians and foreigners who have a residence in Malaysia, including permanent residents and MM2H visa holders, returning from overseas may serve their quarantine at home for 7 days, with preapproval from the Ministry of Health (MOH) and subject to strict requirements including mandatory electronic monitoring.

Facilities for Business Travellers
The Business Travellers Centre (BTC) serves to ease the entry movement of business travellers by providing facilities to expedite their entry process as well as to provide relevant information and guidelines. Duty Officers at BTC will assist business travellers in screening and verifying their documents as stipulated in the entry permission approval letter. This step allows faster facilitation at the immigration counter. The BTC also provides a comfortable area for business travellers to undertake their RT-PCR COVID-19 test.

KLIA Health Screening Centre
The health screening center allows arriving travellers at KLIA to get tested and obtain their COVID-19 test results quickly. Travellers can expect to receive their COVID-19 test of Antigen Rapid Test Kit (RTK-Ag) results within 15 minutes, and their Reverse Transcription (RT)-PCR screening test results within 3 hours. All sites are equipped with comfortable lounges and seating areas for travellers while they wait for their test results.

Pre-purchase of COVID-19 Test Screening for Travellers Flying to Penang
Travellers arriving at Penang International Airport can now book and pre-purchase their COVID-19 test screening prior to arrival at the airport. Those who have purchased their Covid-19 RT-PCR test prior to the flight will be ushered straight through the express lane to have the test done.

TRANSIT
International to an international destination:
Transit duration should not exceed more than 24 hours. If exceeds, travellers are required to undergo quarantine at designated quarantine centres for a period that is determined by the government.
International to a domestic destination:
Travellers to ensure they have all documents and their connecting flight ticket to get to the next flight. If their transit duration exceeds 24 hours, travellers are required to undergo quarantine at designated quarantine centres for a period that is determined by the government before they could continue their journey.
